New Upscale Latin Street Food Restaurant Concept Coming to Parkside District
BIRMINGHAM (Aug. 18, 2016) - Birmingham’s hottest district continues to grow with the addition of a totally new restaurant concept. Cosecha Urban Kitchen (co-se-cha) will be a gourmet spin on Latin street food. It will be located in the LIV Parkside development (1701 1st Ave. S.). The restaurant is the vision of owners Justin White and John Green. White, who is also a chef says, “I have a passion for Latin food and this menu is a collection of the best recipes we have collected from all over. We wanted to make these recipes the way you would find when you travel.”
The upscale street food will be a perfect compliment to the Parkside scene. The menu will even include gourmet hotdogs and Cuban sandwiches for the ballpark crowd. “We also have a plantain bread pudding that is as deep south as you can get,” says White. Everything will be served on eco-friendly paper products so diners can easily get their meals to-go. The restaurant will also feature a full bar with a unique, local flair including a local version of the Moscow Mule that involves southern whiskey and spicy ginger ale.
Stidco Construction has been awarded the contract to build the 2,500 square foot restaurant. The design is by Black Design Architecture. Cosecha Urban Kitchen has an anticipated opening date of October, 2016.
